BOLTON OVER-35s LEAGUE: Cheers Bar and Daten carry on winning

CHEERS Bar maintained their two-point gap at the top of Division One with a 3-0 victory over Atherton Town.

After a goalless first half, Cheers stepped up a gear with Paul Costello scoring twice and Lee Urnshaw making it three.

Second-placed Daten were given an early alarm before beating lowly Victoria 3-1.

They went a goal behind but Darryl Painter equalised before the interval, Chris Burrows put Daten ahead after the break and Painter scored again to secure the points which leaves them two points behind the leaders with a game in hand.

Salford Waggon stay third following a 2-1 win at Radcliffe Old Boys A. George Rowbottom put them ahead and Barry Massey added a second before Paul Drennan pulled a goal back for Radcliffe before half time.

Pineapple beat bottom side Walkden CC 4-2 to move up to fourth.

Henighans lead Division Two by seven points following a 4-0 home win over Moorside.

After a goalless first half John Done hit a hat-trick and a goal by Peter Egan completed a one-side second half.

Turton Bay Mare stay second, but dropped two points in a draw at Bromley Cross, Martin Gregory scoring for Bromley Cross and Phil Donalan for Turton.

In a top-v-bottom clash in Division Three, leaders Radcliffe Old Boys B dropped two points in a 3-3 draw at Elton Liberals, but increased their lead as Dobbies lost at home to Ainsworth B.

Mickey Jefferson scored a hat-trick and Paul Roscoe was also on target in Ainsworth’s 5-2 victory, with Gary Davenport and Peter Forgoine scoring for Dobbies.
