WANDERERS Under-21s make the short trip to Burnley tonight looking to make it through to the quarter finals of the FA Under-21 Premier League Cup.
Jamie Fullarton’s team were impressive in their first outing in the new competition when they beat Barnsley 4-2 at the County ground in Leyland thanks to two goals each from Sanmi Odelusi and Zach Clough.
And they will be looking to get back on the goal trail at Turf Moor having drawn a blank a week ago in a 5-0 league defeat to Chelsea.
That reverse ended a four-game winning run but tonight’s cup clash gives the team a chance to end 2013 on a positive note.
Before the Chelsea defeat, Fullarton’s side had netted 16 goals in four games, six coming from Clough and fellow front man Conor Wilkinson.
Tonight’s game against a Clarets side that also lost their last league match, kicks off at 7pm.
