OFFICIALS from Turton FC believe that their FA Charter Award is just the start of the recognition for the ambitious West Lancashire Football League side.

Vice-chairman Dave Yates said: “It is great for us to get the Charter Standard.

“We had been going for the award a couple of years ago but when we got relegated from the Premier League some of our officials left.

“It meant we had to get back to it and it has been a long time trying to get it.

“We feel the club is going places. We have got lots of young people in the junior section in the under-16s and u15s.

“Things are going well for us and we have had a few good away results recently.

“The management team of Neil Johnson and Neil Hart are working hard for the team.

“We are now attracting top quality players including Josh Melling who has arrived from Old Bolts.

“Now, we are hoping that we can get the results and get back into the Premier Division in the next couple of years.”
