WANDERERS (4-1-3-2) ANDY LONERGAN...8 Came up with some great saves in the second half to preserve the lead – a perfect response to any criticism he got earlier in the week.
ALEX BAPTISTE...6 Solid enough job from the former Blackpool man, who kept Tom Ince fairly quiet when he ventured down his side.
ZAT KNIGHT...7 Dominant in the air and produced some really important clearances for his team. Strong character after the Boro debacle.
MATT MILLS...6 Couple of panicky moments but largely a return to form for Mills, who had his best game alongside Knight since they were paired.
TIM REAM...6 The American still looks a reluctant full-back but did a manful enough job when called upon. Tried to join in further forward.
MEDO KAMARA...8 His best game of the season by a country mile. Broke up lots of play and knitted things together nicely in midfield.
CHRIS EAGLES...7 Worked hard up and down the left flank, adding touches of class, and was a little unlucky not to have got on the scoresheet.
ANDRE MORITZ...7 Though his impact diminished in the second half, there were some genuine flashes of brilliance from the Brazilian early on.
NEIL DANNS...7 Back in the old routine right away. Should have grabbed a goal but always willing to support the strikers and raiding forward.
JERMAINE BECKFORD...7 Played on the shoulder of his marker all afternoon and enjoyed playing in a front two. Simple finish for his eighth goal of the season.
DAVID NGOG...8 One of those days that you just wish had been replicated more often in the Frenchman’s Wanderers career. Pace and skill scared Blackpool.
Subs: Chung-Yong 69 (for Beckford) – 6 – unlucky with a late volley; Pratley 78 (for Moritz) – 6 – helped to keep things solid late on; Vela 87 (for Eagles) – 6 – good to see him back but too late to judge. Not used: Lee-Barrett, White, Bolger, Hall.
STAR MAN – Medo Kamara
WE haven’t seen the best of the Sierra Leone midfielder this season, especially when paired with the equally-defensive Jay Spearing. But this was much more like it, in Blackpool’s faces and breaking up attacks at will.
BLACKPOOL (4-4-1-1) MATT GILKS...6
Subs: Ecclestone 5, 65 (for Barkhuizen), Chopra 5, 79 (for Martinez). Not used: Warner, Harris, Thurston, Caton, Davies.
THEIR STAR MAN – Tom Ince Always the out ball for Blackpool and though he didn’t get on top until the last 20 minutes, he looked capable of grabbing a replay for his team.
