PAUL Scholes will be one of a host of football legends who will play a charity game at the Reebok Stadium in May.

The former Manchester United and England midfielder will lead a team of former Reds stars including Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke and Bryan Robson against members of the old Wimbledon Crazy Gang featuring John Fashanu and Terry Phelan.

The match which will raise funds for Hearts and Minds Challenge, a charity which helps families with autism, on May 18, starting at 3pm.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, January 10, at 9am.

Phelan, who also played for United’s cross-town rivals City, said: “There will be a bit of competitiveness as we are old pros and that was the ‘Crazy Gangs’ way.

“I’m quite fit so I’m raring to go and I think most of the others have kept up their training so it should be a brilliant match.”

It is hoped the event will go towards raising the £1million target to fund a new school in Manchester for autistic children.

The game will be followed by a players’ dinner.
