A STUNNING comeback saw Henighans stretch their lead at the top of Division Two to 10 points.
They were given a scare when they found themselves 4-2 down at Chorlton Sports who are only three points above bottom spot.
But they dug in and turned the tie around with goals from Carl Duncan, Peter Higgins and Phil Hales.
Hales had earlier opened the scoring before but Noel Coleman equalised and Higgins restored Henighans’ lead before the interval.
Carl Ashworth, David Silkman and Coleman put the home side 4-2 ahead before the fightback.
Golborne Parkside subjected Division Three leaders Radcliffe Old Boys B to their first defeat of the season with a resounding 3-0 victory, Stuart Gaskell, Stephen Hughes and Barry Hattersley scoring.
Baz Johnson, Phil Hornby, Ian Mulqueeny and Neil Thompson were on target as mid-table Crossguns beat bottom club Victory Vets 5-3, Dean Taylor scoring two and Mark Tilly one for the losers.
Division Two Ainsworth A went out of the Sam Ashworth Trophy with a 5-2 second-round defeat to Division One Salford Waggon.
George Rowbotham and Bryan Love each scored two and Baz Massey one for Salford who still had plenty to do with the score level at 2-2 at half time.
The all-Division One second round game saw Daten edge out Victoria 4-3.
Garry Morris, Neil Matthews and a Kris Partington double put Daten in the quarter-final where they will meet Atherton Town or BLGC.
David Miller, Malcolm Dunn and Ken Ramsbottom replied for the losers.
Tony Dunn grabbed a hat-trick and Martin Kojder got the other for PF Bury as they reached the semi-final with a 4-1 victory over Ainsworth B.
