This live event has finished
- BWFC team to face Ipswich Town: Lonergan, Baptiste, Knight, Mills, Ream, Spearing, Medo, Pratley, M Davies, Danns, Jutkiewicz
Anyway, match report up soon.
Need to see Lonergan's foul on McGoldrick more closely but looked a very silly one.
Slight flicker of a chance towards the end there as Chung-Yong put in a cross for Jutkiewicz but this summed Wanderers' troubles up today.
Three mins added time.
That's where they are in the live league table now.
A year ago Wanderers had dropped to 20th place after defeat at Watford.
Looked to be opening up for Eagles - but his left footed effort isn't struck well.

"It's pretty hard to argue, isn't it?"
Not really. Sordell scoring is law of averages - it was bound to happen at some point. C Davies scoring is lower league and he has a point to prove - his goal scoring record at lower leagues is pretty good, that info is there for all to see.
OK, it isn't hard to argue :-)
When you see a game hinge on this many missed chances it's not easy to see your strikers scoring elsewhere.
Moritz will stay a spectator today, it seems.
Chungy on for Medo
Wordsworth, the sub, subbed for Richardson
It's pretty hard to argue, isn't it?
About 40 other tweets/messages of this nature - all saying pretty much the same thing.
@MarcIles Craig Davies scores one and gets a penalty for Preston sordell scored for Charlton yet we can't hit a barn door it's embarrassing— @bwfcjgreen92 01 February 2014

Craig Davies 1 Nots Co 0. Now that was really a good loan out Freedman!
It´s enough for me today; I have no Words and hopes left for this.
Next season I´m sure PNE is a Championsip team and Wanderers in League one. how sad!
Liam Trotter on for Neil Danns.
Cleared to Baptiste, who leaned back and hit a half volley into row Z
Free kick in a decent area here for Wanderers. To the left of the pen box.
Eagles hasn't really had a sniff since he came on.
Scrappy, scrappy, scrappy. It's like the two sides have traded places at half time.
Tabb's shot deflected over the top by his own man, Wordsworth. Ipswich looking the more likely to score a second.
Hunt's dipping volley saved by Lonergan. Keeper then boots the ball out to Jutkiewicz but too far, and into touch.
Eagles coming on for Pratley
Knocked the stuffing out of Wanderers. Lonergan looking unsure on another cross.
McGoldrick blasted the pen right down the middle for those who care about such things.
But the pressure was invited.
Got to put that down to an error by the goalkeeper - needed to be punched away.
Scrappiest goal to give away. Danns had failed to clear his lines a few moments before and when the ball was poloughed back into the box, Lonergan's hashed attempt to punch the ball away ended with him clambering all over McGoldrick, who went down.
1-0 Ipswich. McGoldrick.
Foul by Lonergan on McGoldrick
Penalty to Ipswich
Ipswich just coming more into the game now. Crowd has awoken.
Wordsworth lashes a shot over the bar from the edge of the box.
Gerken forced into action again, this time by Baptiste. Good save.
At half time, there were more goals in the Burnley-QPR game than in all the others in the Championship put together...
The locals are restless through. Not happy with Ipswich's first-half display at all.
Davies has looked lively but missed the best chance of the half.
Jutkiewicz has brought others into play - albeit you need someone going past him a bit more.
But enough of the half time refreshments - general view from the local journos is that Wanderers have done well in the first half.
OK - back in the press box after a cup of tea and a Viennese Whirl.
Half time - and Wanderers have done okay. Not a free-flowing spectacle by any stretch but they have had the best chances, worked hard and will be quite happy after the first 45 minutes.
At the moment.
Medo blasts a shot over the bar from distance - a goal all that's missing from a solid 45 minutes. But it's better than QPR in that respect.
One of the very established journos here has just said Wanderers are playing very well. I'd agree, they've had a decent half.
Six mins of added time in this first half.
First goal looking ever-crucial here.
Jutkiewicz squeezes a shot wide. Nice bit of football from Wanderers on the edge of the box - the striker hitting one on the turn from about 18 yards out.
Wasted a free kick in a good position, though. Criminal.
With a trip - I might add.
Berra booked for halting a good run by Pratley.
Jutkiewicz really has made a nuisance of himself up there. Ream has done well on the left too.
Berra forced to make an emergency clearance after Ream finds Jutkiewicz with his cross from the left.
Cresswell clears the ball out of Portman Road and probably into the river outside.
Another missed chance...
Danns ran through on Davies' pass and stabbed at goal - Gerken saved low down and then got up to make a second save at the midfielder's feet.
Great save by Gerken to deny Danns.
Anthony Wordsworth on to replace Skuse.
Skuse has now been helped to his feet but looks like he was knocked out for a minute.
A bizzare golf buggy has now come on with the stretcher.
The Ipswich man, Cole Skuse, is having to come off. He's hardly moved.
Jutkiewicz has been an effective target so far - just not enough movement around him at the moment.
Pause in play with an Ipswich defender down after a clash with Pratley.
About 25mins gone and Ipswich have shaded it. Not exactly an end-to-end game at the moment, though.
Wanderers not really getting hold of the ball at the moment in midfield. It's all gone a bit hit and hope.
Two close calls there for Wanderers within a few seconds of each other. Need to regroup.
Lonergan tips over a blast from Cresswell. Ipswich turning the screw.
Nouble flashes a shot across goal - Mills might have got a touch.
Rather speculative header from Nouble after Hunt's cross - never troubled Lonergan.
Considering Ream looks like he's on his way to a masquerade ball, he's made a bright start too.
Wanderers battling well - Spearing and Medo both making some inportant clearances at the back.
That's the kind of chance that you fear Wanderers might live to regret today.
Ream produces a great cross that finds its way to Davies - he scuffed first shot and then screwed his second one wide. Huge chance.
Jutkiewicz wins Spearing's free kick and nods into the path of Pratley - but he gets his shot all wrong.
Pratley playing furthest forward again - much like QPR.
Jutkiewicz plays Pratley through on goal but linesman flags for offside.
3:02pm Sat 1 Feb 14
who is taking corners?
Danns whips in a cross towards Davies, who heads wide. Decent chance.
Nouble puts a shot over the bar for Ipswich. All came from a mistake by Baptiste to conceded a corner.
Sordell has scored for Charlton...
Tim Ream looks like Michael Myers from the Halloween films.
That said, Ipswich have just tried a clever corner and put the ball out for a throw.
Wanderers corner cleared. Ream passes all the way back to Lonergan, who has to kick into touch. Ropey start.
And we're off!
Freedman said on Thursday he wouldn't need a mask... Obviously he does!
Or the white Teenage Ninja Turtle.
He looks like the Lone Ranger.
Tim Ream has got one of those masks on!

Also looking at the team we could do with dawson
Random dance music for the last five minutes. Minus two points for Ipswich.

I think we will be OK if we play as we did against QPR. As you said we need to score when we are on top. I think jukey looked handy the other night. He plays a similar game to C. Davies but he plays the ball more than the man. The other night he was able to control the ball hold it up and play it off the someone several times which is more than could be said for Davies who was more preoccupied with grappling with the defenders. Plus our bench is full if impact players so as long as we aren't forced into any early sub's like Tuesday I think we can get a decent victory today. (2-0 I reckon).
@MarcIles I'm all for glass half full like, but SERIOUSLY?!? #bwfc— @NicolaHoltM 01 February 2014
2:47pm Sat 1 Feb 14
hi im back marc and first thing is WHAT THE HECK ARE WE DOING WITH THE TEAM. Or i could say WHY IS PRATLEY PLAYING
Thought he played quite well at QPR.
Ipswich also a pretty big side. Get the feeling DF has gone with his most physical line up (Trotter aside)
Joke, of course.
If I don't post for say, five minutes, can someone ring for an ambulance?
Worried I might get shocked in a moment, though.
There are two tiny desklamps in front of me that are doubling up as handwarmers.
Mind, Roy Keane could start an argument in an empty room.
Bit of a training ground bust-up between the pair, I'm being told. Shortly after that he left the club.
They were also recalling his "incident" with Roy Keane.
Liam Trotter being given glowing reviews in the press room by the Ipswich journos.
Minus points for Ipswich on the pre-match music.
Oh no, Bon Jovi.

"Getting the distinct feeling that Dougie Freedman's team selection has not been all that well received. "
Is that from away fans or the at home posse?
I think Zat has aot of making up to do to be honest Marc. Moritz on the bench, unless you can give us a clue as to why oh wise one, then I'm as baffled as the rest.
Other than that, there isn't much difference as the rest of this season in selection - no surprises.
@MarcIles Are you facepalming through the shooting drill Marc?— @articlechase 01 February 2014
Here's something to cheer you up...
Craig Davies does start for Preston today. If he scores, I may be forced to abandon my Twitter account.
@MarcIles as expected and we can win if we play like Tuesday and mavies and pratley get forward to support the new boy. Predict 2-1 2 Bolton— @DavidJ_Roberts 01 February 2014
A few people have noted that if Wanderers start like they did against QPR, they should be OK.
I'd go along with that - just so long as they actually score while they are on top.
It's officially cold. Just had a bite of my coffee.
Getting the distinct feeling that Dougie Freedman's team selection has not been all that well received.
Charles Breakspear is the referee today - by far my favourite official's name in the Football League.
@MarcIles Toothless. We will not score even if we play until this time tomorrow. #bwfc— @phoward1974 01 February 2014
Yazz's "The Only Way is Up" playing on the tannoy. Can't help but feel the symbolism.
I'm up in the press box - very high up in fact - and my view is obstructed by a foot-wide iron girder. Other than that, I'm aces.
A delightful mix of sarcasm and realism there...

Craig Davies start for PNE today. What if he score one or two today? Will we miss him then?
I do not doubt that there is a recall clause somewhere, but League One isn't the Championship, getting goals there will be just the boost CD needs.

Subs bench for the new signing Trotter.
Ipswich team: Gerken, Chambers, Berra, Smith, Cresswell, Tabb, Skuse, Hunt, Nouble, McGoldrick, Murphy
Subs: Loach, Mings, Richardson, Anderson, Edwards, Wordsworth, Taylor
BWFC subs: Bogdan, White, Vela, Trotter, Moritz, Eagles, Lee
Just the one change then. Jutkiewicz for Craig Davies.
BWFC team: Lonergan, Baptiste, Knight, Mills, Ream, Spearing, Medo, Pratley, M Davies, Danns, Jutkiewicz
I hope Jutkiewicz gets a goal. There are some Juke puns I've got up my sleeve for headlines.
@MarcIles 2-1 with Juk and Danns goals— @CarlJWood 01 February 2014
Teams should be announced in a couple of minutes.
Will be interesting to see whether Trotter's signing does change the formation.
A few people suggested Jay Spearing as a right-back yesterday, with three centre halves - I quite like the sound of that.
3-3 QPR/Burnley now.

These blogs and the Bolton News Twitter account are now my first choice for BWFC news. The Wanderers' Facebook page is a disgrace, allowing untrammelled abusive posts. Seems like they are trying to demoralise their own players by offering them up for online abuse on the Club's own pages. The wry humour in Marc's blogs is an oasis of calm perspective.
Thanks a lot. Appreciate the comment.

Y'know all things considered I do not think business has been all that bad.
Look we got hold of Danns and Trotter, I believe Trotter may make a great debut, possibly score. I believe he will be just a big a hit as Feeney and Dawson in all honesty. I took a look at a few videos and he does actually look the part. No wonder Millwall wanted to keep hold of him.
We have Moritz and Juke who I think can forge a good partnership today. I took a look at Juke over the last couple of seasons (on video) and if he can get back to what he has done over the last few seasons I do not see a problem as we will have two strikers capable of double figures, Beckford inclusive of course.
I hold onto the fact that we can still get Dawson in and things look even better. With injury hit players returning I think we can get a grip. Dare I say it, but it depends highly on getting a result today to kick on and I think we can still make the cut in the top 6.
Marc do I sound positive today? Yes I do... why? Well on paper the players we have remaining at the club are a fantastic bunch despite the problems of late. CYL on form can be a problem for any team. Mark Davis on form can be unstoppable, Danns can be inspirational, Moritz I do not need to say any more, he is proving to be a good acquisition and can bounce of a front two or one. Eagles - I was talking to a Man United fan today who expressed a disappointment with BWFC fans because MUFC fans were disappointed to see him leave the fold a few years ago - and apparently they had him tipped to be every bit as good as Beckham with the right coaching - he hasn't hit prime yet and could go on to be a huge player for the club. He has in the past and let us not forget that.
Tim Ream, Matty Mills, Wheater coming back, and Baptiste in the right position (even attacking) are as good as any defence in the league providing they can get ship shape.
I have not even mentioned the enigmatic STUSA Holden, Tierney and the forgotten Riley - these are all very capable along with Josh Vela.
I think we need to be confident in the squad, it will filter through eventually from the terraces, staff at the club, management, coaching and the kids coming through. I still say we should try to get hold of the experience of Michel Bastos from Al-Ain FC when the loan window reopens if he does not go back to Roma or as rumored he has gone to Roma, but may be subject to loan againif he isn't getting games. He is left midfield and has played at left back and has quality as Big Sam would put it along with experience of the Arab League - not toooooo indifferent to the Championship plus he has been playing in La Liga.
@MarcIles good move for the club. Seems to be preparing the club for life without eagles CYL Holden etc. better financially I suppose.— @mdkirky 01 February 2014

Kevin Nolan - Bolton need players with that sort of passion. Someone who wants to play for the team. There is nobody in the current squad with that sort of passion. Just a bunch of journey men........
Going for 1-0, Jutkiewicz with the goal.

It should be very interesting how DF will build his starting XI today. The lack of good defenders and strikers must be a nightmare even for DF. IMO it would be best to play like West Ham did against Chelsea to secure one point and try to hit on counter attacks. In other Words, over crowd the midfield and park the bus at Portman Road! Come on and dig in there boys!
@MarcIles why were we never linked with a left back yet that is what we needed the most? Surely there must be one knocking around— @bwfcjgreen92 01 February 2014
So after all the thrills and spills of the transfer window, we're left with Neil Danns, Yannick Bastos, Lukas Jutkiewicz and Liam Trotter. What do YOU make of the business overall?
One of the best press rooms in the country at Ipswich - very friendly place.
Ipswich struggling for players at the moment - and lost their star man Ryan Tunnicliffe yesterday. He was pulled back from a loan spell by Manchester United and sold to Fulham.
Trotter has 19 appearances this season and has scored three goals.
Trotter played 90 minutes for Millwall on Tuesday night in a 1-1 draw against Sheffield Wednesday.
Liam Trotter IS eligible to make his debut today. Little scare earlier when the club said the Football League hadn't quite processed the paperwork.
Bright and sunny in Ipswich today but there's a chill in the air. Great day for football.
Good afternoon folks - the day after the night before!
