WANDERERS (4-2-3-1)

ANDY LONERGAN...5 Made a good first half save from Cresswell but you can’t look past his error to concede the penalty. Looked a bag of nerves after that.

ALEX BAPTISTE...6 Wasn’t troubled directly as Ipswich had not width about them at all but the full-back did make some good clearances.

ZAT KNIGHT...7 Kept busy with any number of crosses thrown into the penalty box. Stood up well against the physical threat of Daryl Murphy.

MATT MILLS...5 Had been solid for half the game but the goal seemed to rattle him and that nervousness spread right through the team.

TIM REAM...6 Provided some width in the first half, playing with that distinctive white mask, but that dried up in the latter stages.

JAY SPEARING...6 Put himself around as always but Wanderers need him to be more than just a defensive shield at the moment.

MEDO KAMARA...6 Slightly more adventurous going forward than Spearing but Medo still failed to get himself into the game.

MARK DAVIES...6 Started brightly but after missing a gilt-edged chance midway through the first half started to drift further and further away from the action.

DARREN PRATLEY...6 Tried his best to link with Jutkiewicz and drive Wanderers forward yet his limitations on that front are clear to see.

NEIL DANNS...5 Danns was denied by an excellent double save from Gerken but his afternoon was spent running round with little impact.

LUKAS JUTKIEWICZ...6 Provided an effective target before running out of steam completely after the half-time break. Has something about him, though.

Subs: Eagles 5, 58 (for Pratley) – Just couldn’t get himself into the game Trotter 5, 73 (for Danns) – Looked mobile but Wanderers had stopped playing.

Chung-Yong 5, 79 (for Medo) – Hardly had a touch in the latter stages.

Not used: Bogdan, White, Moritz, Vela.

STAR MAN – Zat Knight Stood strong at the back and made some important contributions as Ipswich ploughed the ball continuously into the penalty box. Not exactly stretched by a static attack – but an honest performance nevertheless.
