4:56pm

All over - 1-1.

4:52pm

End to end here - Jutkiewicz fails to connect properly with Chungy's cross and Millwall break.

4:51pm

Chungy on for Pratley - not before time.

4:47pm

Five mins between the penalty miss and the Millwall goal

4:44pm

Spearing gets round the keeper but goes too wide, crosses back in for Danns but he is denied by a last ditch tackle.

4:43pm

Bogdan made a brilliant save from Jackson - but Woolford followed up to squeeze the ball home from a tight angle.

4:42pm

GOAL Millwall

4:39pm

Davies booked for not getting off the pitch quickly enough.

4:38pm

Zat Knight  coming on for Mark Davies.

4:38pm

Saved! Forde blocks Jutkiewicz's low penalty.

4:37pm

PENALTY Wanderers - Shittu handball

4:34pm

Malone came in with a follow up that whistled just wide.

4:34pm

Wollford’s snap shot – brilliant save from Bogdan.

4:32pm

Danns on for Eagles

4:32pm

Here comes Danns.

4:28pm

After seven or eight passes, Pratley played Baps through and he finished well but the linesman flagged for offside.

4:27pm

Baptiste thought he had his fifth of the season after a flowing move - best of the game by a mile.

4:27pm

What a goal that nearly was...

4:26pm

Campbell heads over the top from Morison’s cross.

4:24pm

Fredericks (foul on Pratley)

4:23pm

Think we might see Neil Danns soon.

4:18pm

Triple substitution for Millwall as McDonald, Campbell and Jackson come on.

4:12pm

Got the ball round the wall and the keeper was well beaten - really unlucky.

4:11pm

Eagles hits the post with a free kick.

4:11pm

Upson (foul on Jutkiewicz)

4:07pm

Morison heads over the bar. Half a chance.

4:06pm

Fast start from Millwall. Early corner.

4:04pm

Players back out on the pitch. Hope Wanderers can impose themselves on the game a bit better in the second half.

4:03pm

Attendance today is 10,007 - with 503 from Bolton

4:02pm

Back in my seat, or bench, and thankful that they had hot soup at half time. It's brassic.

3:48pm

3:48pm

Martin drills a shot just over the bar. Looks like Wanderers have weathered the worst of it.

3:44pm

Millwall turning up the heat again before half time.

3:37pm

Jutkiewicz against Shittu is an interesting tussle. Just wish the Wanderers man was seeing more of the ball. Think he has the beating of his defender.

3:34pm

Eagles 32 (foul on Malone)

3:32pm

Things have calmed a bit now as Easter receives some treatment for Millwall. Amazed this game isn't at least 1-1.

3:30pm

Not given but Wanderers really on the ropes.

3:29pm

Wheater charges down a shot from Upson – home fans scream for a penalty.

3:28pm

Second to everything in the last five mins.

3:28pm

Major test for Wanderers - who have got to start clearing their lines better. Crosses just are not being dealt with.

3:27pm

Another one hooked off the line – this time by Baptiste. Bogdan made a right hash of a punch from Martin’s cross and the defender was back on the line to clear.

3:26pm

Millwall pushing hard for an equaliser now. Baptiste forced into a last-ditch tackle and a penalty call against Eagles for a foul on Morison  - but I think the ref got it right and waved it away.

3:23pm

Should have been 1-1 - great defending (from Wheats)

3:23pm

Baptiste failed to clear and Woolford thought he had turned in the equaliser until David Wheater made a miraculous clearance on the line.

3:22pm

And suddenly it's the home crowd that are rattled - the 400-or-so away fans are in fine voice.

3:19pm

I'd like to say it has been coming but the truth is, the game had been dull as ditchwater up until that header. Superb finish.

3:18pm

Eagles swings a rather hopeful ball in from the left and Jutkiewicz is there to get a glancing header to steer it round Forde and off the base of the post.

3:16pm

GOAL! Jutkiewicz

3:15pm

So Tim Ream takes it - and his effort is pretty poor. Millwall clear.

3:14pm

Great position for a left-footer.

3:14pm

Pratley wins a free kick on the edge of the box - lunging challenge by Fredericks.

3:12pm

Wanderers haven't really had the ball in Millwall's final third until just then - Medo dragging a shot well wide.

3:10pm

Pratley forced to concede corner.

3:09pm

Woolford has made a bright start for the Lions. Just won a free kick in a decent area from Medo.

3:08pm

Ball from back to front towards Morison causes issues for Wanderers. Dropped over Wheater. Attacks ends with Upson firing over from distance.

3:07pm

Take that back. It's a very scrappy start.

3:05pm

Scrappy start. Millwall have had most of the early possession.

3:01pm

3:01pm

Players do appear to have black armbands on - although it's hard to tell on Millwall's kit.

Consistent 90 minute performance and I can see us edging this one, 1-0/2-1 COYW

2:58pm

Players in the tunnel - as always it's quite a loud atmosphere here.

2:55pm

The power pack on my laptop can double as a hand warmer. Why didn't I think about this sooner??

2:54pm

On a completely different note - I have just made a new discovery...

2:53pm

Sad loss felt around the football world for sure. I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with him on a couple of occasions and he really was a true gent.

2:52pm

Match announcer also asking for a round of applause for Sir Tom Finney, who passed away last night.

2:51pm

They always introduce former players before the game here - two from the late seventies out on the pitch right now.

2:48pm

Wanderers went back down the tunnel a few minutes ago, but Millwall still out and doing drills.

2:43pm

He does note that the Lions came back to take a point against Yeovil in midweek and hopes that will be a turning point for his side. Can Wanderers follow suit?

2:43pm

Interesting that Ian Holloway addressed a problem with "mental weakness" after Millwall have gone a goal down in his programme notes.

2:39pm

Know I sound like a stuck record (forgive the pun) but like the music here. Lightning Seeds now...

2:37pm

Simple one with Petrov - he wasn't available until now. They only wanted him out on a short-term loan, rather than a season long one.

I know this will sound negative but I think a point today would be ok. On another subject....the failed signing of Popov from WBA. If I understood it correctly, if we'd tried to have signed him in the window it would have gone thru ok, so why did we wait till now?!? Another example of rank bad management by the football club.

2:37pm

2:34pm

If they moved it 200 miles closer to Manchester it would be nicer, though.

2:34pm

Has a reputation The Den but must say the welcome at the ground has always been really good. Nice people here.

After seeing their lineup, if this game is even close it'll be a travesty. An easy win should be on the cards. COYWM!!!

2:28pm

On that last one - I thought the fact that Josh Vela and Rob Hall were on the bench after their midweek indiscretions was quite a surprise.

2:27pm

2:27pm

2:19pm

The Den doing a nice line in late nineties indie music so far. Very good.

2:18pm

Caught up with Adam Bogdan before the game and talked about a potentially tough away day... but then he's seen it all before!

2:15pm

2:15pm

2:15pm

Moritz has done his hamstring. Not sure exactly how badly yet.

2:14pm

He is here, I am told. Brave boy!

2:14pm

The general consensus is that Chungy should be in the starting line-up. Thought he tired towards the last third of Tuesday's game myself.

2:13pm

Phew - and that was just a small portion of the replies I got on Twitter.

There have been fewer positives taken by the Wanderers fans as regards to team selection, however...

2:06pm

So no Feeney for Millwall from the start - I'm taking that as a positive.

2:05pm

MFC subs: Bywater, Robinson, Powell, Feeney, Jackson, Campbell, McDonald

2:05pm

MFC: Forde; Fredericks, Shittu, Dunne, Malone; Upson, Williams; Martin, Woolford, Easter; Morison

2:05pm

BWFC Subs: Lonergan, White, Knight, Danns, Hall, Lee, Vela

2:04pm

BWFC: Bogdan, Baptiste, Mills, Wheater, Ream, Medo, Spearing, Eagles, M Davies, Pratley, Jutkiewicz

2:04pm

And the team...

2:03pm

It has brightened up a bit in London since he arrived - and the pitch looks in decent condition considering the recent weather.

2:03pm

Bit late starting today, and teams should be with us very soon.

2:02pm

A good afternoon from The Den and welcome to Matchday Live!

MEMORABLE MATCHES

9/8/1969
Wanderers 4 Millwall 1

EDDIE Hopkinson celebrated his 500th appearance for Wanderers but it was John Byrom who stole the show with a hat-trick at Burnden Park.
After 11 years as number one, Hoppy’s day got off to the worst possible start when he dropped a clanger to gift Keith Weller the opening goal.
Byrom – that craftiest of strikers who had shouldered the scoring responsibilities after the sales of Wyn Davies and Francis Lee over the previous couple of seasons – helped himself to the match ball and Roy Greaves, home-grown and ultimately another 500-plus appearance man, also scored a cracker.

19/3/1995
Millwall 0
Wanderers 1

WANDERERS had paid £120,000 to sign John McGinlay from Millwall in 1992 and he had already scored twice against his former club en route to promotion from Division Two before coming back to The Den to haunt them again in 1995.
Scoring the only goal of the game, the Scot briefly propelled Bruce Rioch’s men into second place.
They finished third in the end, and McGinlay would of course play a major part in helping the Whites past Wolves in the semi-final before that never-to-be-forgotten win against Reading at Wembley.

6/10/2012
Millwall 2
Wanderers 1

OWEN Coyle was sacked just 48 hours after this defeat, which was also marred by reports of racist abuse aimed towards Wanderers striker Marvin Sordell.
Darius Henderson scored the Millwall goals either side of a strike by Chris Eagles but the Wanderers playmaker was left to rue a missed penalty at 1-1 that could have proved the difference.
After the final whistle Sordell complained instantly on Twitter of language used by one young Millwall fans, which led to a police investigation and a ban for the supporter in question.

2:00pm

FOOT IN BOTH CAMPS

Charlie Hurley
Millwall 1953-1957
Wanderers 1969-1971

The Irish centre back was voted Millwall’s best ever player in a fanzine in 2007 despite leaving the club at the age of 20. Hurley ended his career at Burnden Park but declined the chance to be manager afterwards.

Kevin Davies
Millwall 2002
Wanderers 2003-2013

After his career at Southampton had disintegrated, Davies went on loan to Millwall in 2002. The following summer he was released by the Saints and rescued from the scrapheap by Wanderers – and the rest, as they say, is history.

Sam Allardyce
Wanderers 1973-1980 and 1985-1986
Millwall 1981-1983

Big Sam played more than 200 times for the Whites before leaving for Millwall in a deal worth £95,000. He later returned for a brief injury-hit spell but would find his greatest success at the club as manager, leading Wanderers twice into Europe.

1:59pm

The Bolton News: Dean Gerken is beaten by Ryan Fredericks' cross. PICTURES BY EDMUND BOYDEN.

ONE TO WATCH - RYAN FREDERICKS

Millwall’s right side is a potent one at present. Wanderers fans will know all about Liam Feeney, who plays further forward than on-loan Spurs full-back Fredericks but the England youth international has been a massive hit since being brought to the club by Ian Holloway in December. Fredericks marked his debut against Ipswich Town (see picture) with a goal and gives his side plenty of width.

1:58pm

MILLWALL PRE-MATCH TEAM NEWS

Millwall will welcome Ed Upson back into the side after he missed out of the 1-1 draw with his former club Yeovil because of a gentleman’s agreement between the clubs.

Keeper David Forde should be fit to face Wanderers after struggling with a thigh problem and likewise former Reebok defender Danny Shittu, who has also had a groin strain.
Winger Nicky Bailey is out with a back injury as is defender Mark Beevers (calf). Shane Lowry completes the fourth of a five-match suspension.
Likely line-up (4-2-3-1): Forde; Fredericks, Williams, Shittu, Malone; Upson, Abdou; Feeney, Jackson, Campbell; Morison.

Time to end DF's contract.

If it costs money to do so then so be it... we will be losing that money on attendances and **** league One football next season if we do not get rid now.

I have done my bit sticking by the manager, I cannot do so anymore. Today was the final nail.

I will still go to matches, still support the club but I cannot support DF in consistent failure and inability to keep the team together.

Too much rotation, to many gaffs aimed at the team, no confidence in the team, so why would they play for him?

If Dougie Freedman goes, then Phil Gartside has to go too. If he admits that he's made the wrong choice again then that will make it four consecutive mistakes since Allardyce left. Bolton Wanderers, and Eddie Davies in particular, can't afford this level of mismanagement.
Sammy Lee's appointment was hasty and proved to be highly unsuccessful, Megson was allowed to spend the money that should have been given to Allardyce and wasted most of it, and Coyle proved inept in almost every facet of the job.
Bolton's lack of success in the transfer market over the past few seasons persuaded them to take the youth development route; now they have to stick with it. I think Freedman will keep us up, but his master plan for next season will have to be greatly improved.
