Cheers Bar Vets remain in pole position for the title with three matches remaining, but they are being pushed all the way by second-placed Daten.
Both sides claimed their ninth victories of the campaign at the weekend, but while Daten cruised to a 6-0 win at third-bottom Queen Lizzie, Cheers Bar were made to sweat for their 2-1 victory at second-bottom Victoria.
The leaders maintained their two-point cushion at the top thanks to a second-half winner from Wayne O’Reilly, after John Coogan’s opener had been cancelled out by Scott West’s equaliser.
Doubles from Chris Bennett and Mark Shannon, along with goals from Darly Painter and Kris Parkinson, made Daten’s win much more comfortable.
Elsewhere in Division One, Atherton Town beat bottom side Walkden CC 3-0 with second half goals by Martin Hughes, Martin Hughes and Lee Neal.
A brace from Greg Richardson and strikes from Tony Beech and Gary Kay eventually sealed Pineapple’s 4-2 win at home to Radcliffe Old Boys A, for whom Steven Clarke and Alan Holdsworth got on the scoresheet.
Unbeaten Henighans continued their charge to the Division Two title with a 3-0 win at PF Bury following two goals from Phil Regan and one from John Done.
Turton Bay Mare, who are also unbeaten, stayed second with a 2-1 win over Moorside Rangers. There were also good wins for Ainsworth A and Old Boltonians.
The top two continue to fight it out for the Division Three title, with a point separating leaders Radcliffe Old Boys B and Dobbies, who both won.
A Steve Godridge effort was enough to secure Radcliffe all three points at home to Crossguns, while a brace from Gary Davenport and one from Chris Williams earned Dobbies a 3-1 win over local rivals Elton Liberals.
Golborne Parkside earned the score of the day, beating Bolton Wyresdale 6-2, thanks to goals from John Munro (two), Chris Hardman (two), Stuart Gaskell and Paul Jones.
