A FARNWORTH School is celebrating after achieving success in two different sports.

St James’ High School won the Bolton Schools Under-13s table tennis championships and the intermediate boys Bolton schools swimming championships.

The table tennis team will now go on to represent the town at the Manchester Youth Games.

PE teacher Jason Whittaker said: “We are so proud of the kids as they showed great spirit to win the competition.

The squad included: Bailey Sullivan, Daniel Finlay, Israel Nunga-Mukwa, Dylan Hubbert, Connor Hopkinson, Bessam Saleh Mrogg, Jayan Versani and Ross Hennessey.

The school had to make more room in their trophy cabinet when the swimming team, which included James Mooney, Sam Wardle, Matthew Walker and Andrew Jackson, brought home the silverware.
