WANDERERS’ winning run was halted at struggling Charlton, who clung on to a precious point to aid their survival fight.
Dougie Freedman’s side had won their previous three games and possibly did enough to take three points from the Valley.
Matt Mills had a header cleared brilliantly off the line by Diego Poyet and Neil Danns wasted another good chance in the second half as Jose Riga’s Addicks slumped on the ropes.
But for a good first-half save from Adam Bogdan to deny Reza Ghoochannejhad, it was a relatively comfortable afternoon for the Whites in a defensive sense.
Charlton’s purple patch came in a 15-minute spell in the first half as Bogdan made his solitary save and Simon Church missed a header.
Freedman had paired Lukas Jutkiewicz and Jermaine Beckford for the first time but the duo didn’t really click.
Both had chances, although Wanderers’ overall performance had more of an end-of-season air than many have of late.
