BOLTON junior colts (Under-17s) completed the double when they beat Tarleton 17-13 in the Lancashire Cup.

But they did not have it all their own way as Tarleton took the lead with a penalty when Bolton were offside.

Louis Townsend’s side came back into it with William Lomax and William Brindle hitting Tarleton’s defence hard.

Jack Robinson went over the line from a quick penalty.

Bolton moved the ball between backs and forwards and David Davenport touched down. Tarleton scored a try under the posts to put Bolton under pressure.

The league champions came out firing with Harry Stockton and Ben Sheelan moving the ball along the Bolton’s line and back again to Robinson to round off the scoring.

A spokesman for the team said: “It was a perfect end to Bolton’s best season they have ever had.”
