THE Bolton Bury and District Football League held six of their Players Cup finals at the Eddie Davies Academy on Sunday.

In the pick of the games, Turton Under-18s edged Horwich Saint Mary Tomahawks U18s in a 10-goal bonanza.

Jake Borrows’ hat-trick was not enough for Horwich who were defeated 6-4 thanks to goals from Jack Garmory, Jack Darbyshire, Daniel Kidd, Sam Brown and a brace from Zach Browne.

Hindley Juniors came from behind to beat Horwich Saint Mary Jets 4-3 in the u17s final. Aaron Thorpe, Matt Harrison and Alex Graham got the goals for Horwich, but they were pegged back after strikes from Nathan Medhurst, Sam Chadwick and Jordan Caine, before Brad Aspey scored the winning goal with only 10 minutes left on the clock.

Westhoughton Rangers recorded cup final success with a 2-1 victory over Astley and Tyldesley Town in the u16s category.

Sam Roberts and Jamie Hester put Westhoughton two goals ahead, but Alec Crowder’s late goal only proved to be a consolation for Astley.

FC Sharples were convincing winners of the u15’s Players Cup as they saw off Westhoughton Town 5-1.

Connor Elliott’s hat-trick and a brace from George Meekin left no hope of a comeback for Westhoughton, who grabbed a late consolation through Adam Haydock.

Hooley Bridge were crowned u14s cup champions after they defeated Bolton Lads and Girls Club Blues 5-1.

Goals from Brandon Ryan, Dublin Maloney, Dean Hussain and two from Edrine Spencer ensured the victory, which never looked in doubt despite Bradley Hughes’ free-kick for BLGC. Jon Joseph Leake, Nathan Knowles and Harrison Rogers goals were not enough for Atherton LR who were beaten by North Walkden 5-3 in the u13s final.

There were three small-sided Players Cup finals that took place on Saturday at the Reebok Stadium.

Matthew Hall scored a hat-trick for Daisy Hill Lions as they beat Little Lever SC Tigers 3-0 in the u12s final.

Ringley Park Rangers enjoyed success in the u11s cup by narrowly overcoming Leigh United Tigers 3-2.

Robbie Woodcock, Joel Fairclough and Lewis Middleton were on the scoresheet for Ringley, with Jonah Goldie and Will Clife netting for Leigh.

FC Sharples replicated their u15s performance at the under-10 level beating Radcliffe Borough Bulls 5-1.

A Mathew Senior brace along with goals from Sam Fullarton, Dominic Flood and Thomas Keen secured the youngsters the silverware. But the perfect performance was dented after Junior Hodgson’s excellent cross was converted into his own net by a defender to prevent a clean sheet.
