BOLTON'S Haroon Khan made it five wins from five professional fights with a points victory over Hungary's Csaba Kovacs at the Reebok Stadium tonight.

Khan earned a 60-55 triumph after six rounds of super-flyweight action in a contest that saw him land several good punches against an opponent who had won two of his previous three fights.

With older brother Amir watching ringside, it was Khan's first outing in his home-town as a professional and he started quickest out of the blocks with some good early left and right combinations in the opening round in a packed Premier Suite.

Kovacs, who was a late change as an opponent, responded well but Khan's defence was good throughout.

He continued to land good left hooks at will and shook the Hungarian on more than one occasion.

It went the distance but Bolton's 2010 Commonwealth bronze medalist was adjudged the clear victor by Liverpool referee Mark Lyson.

Earlier on the bill, Little Lever's Danny Watson made it a winning double for Bolton with a 59-56 points win against Welshman Lance Sheehan in a close contest.

Watson, who now lives in Bromley Cross, stretched his unblemished pro record to six wins out of six at the Bolton Whites hotel.
