Flixton will be keeping an eye on last season's champions Atherton who are making a charge up the table up to sixth after beating Elton by seven wickets.

Elsewhere, Simon Belston says his Bury side must bounce back after a disappointing defeat to Worsley.

Chris Taylor (86) got Worsley on the road in their total 178-4 with Nekoli Parris taking 2-38.

Belston said: “With the rain, we were set a reduced target of 136 and in 33 overs, you have to be confident you can get that.

“But credit to Worsley they put in a good performance and got the win.

“It is a long hard season in the Bolton Association but have to bounce back next week.”

Worsley managed to skittle their opponents out for 79 with Himesh Silva taking 7-41 and Michael Gould taking 3-16.

Nial Burke 39, Sam Heeley 23 and Jack Heaton 28 led the fightback but it was David Bowden’s 79 that kept Adlington guessing and it was touch and go whether the hosts would get the points.

However, a flurry of wickets helped Adlington to victory with Majid Majeed (6-48) and Ben King (2-20) playing key roles in the win.
