FORMER Bolton Wanderers midfielder Andranik Teymourian moved to the Reebok stadium in September 2006 following his side’s elimination from the 2006 World Cup.

Manager Sam Allardyce bought the Iranian for an undisclosed fee and he went on to make 30 appearances in his two year spell before leaving to join Fulham.

Andranik will be hoping for a happier time of it in Brazil than he had eight years ago in Germany when he started all three of Iran’s group games which started with a 3-1 defeat to Mexico.

A 2-0 loss to Portugal and 1-1 draw with Angola ensured a dismal tournament for the midfielder whose team finished bottom of the group with just a point.

Andranik made his international debut in 2005 and has gone on to make 78 appearances scoring eight goals.

During his time at Bolton he notched four goals, two of which came in a 3-1 win away to local rivals Wigan Athletic.

After joining Fulham in June 2008 he had a brief spell at Barnsley before returning to his home country to play for Esteghlal.
