SAMMY Lee has quit Wanderers to link up with ex-Liverpool defender Sammi Hyppia at Brighton.

The 55-year-old had been working as the head of academy coaching and development since February 2012.

Prior to his return, Lee has enjoyed great success as assistant to Sam Allardyce before being promoted for a short but unrewarding stint as manager in 2007. He also had a brief stint as a player in the early nineties.

Chairman Phil Gartside said: “Sammy has been a fantastic servant to Bolton Wanderers during his time with us.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Sammy for his endeavours and efforts with us and wish him all the best for the future.”
