ASTLEY and Tyldesley Sports Association held a boxing taster session St George’s Central School recently.
Children from St George’s Central, Sacred Heart, Tyldesley Primary, St Michael’s and St Richard’s worked with boxing coach David Morris from Astley VIP Boxing club on basic combinations, footwork activities and a range of different fitness tasks.
Cllr Stephen Hellier, Sue Loudon, Jo Platt and Joanne Marshall were keen to come along and see what ATSA was all about.
Mark Grogan, organiser at ATSA said: “I would like to thank David for providing an excellent session that focused not only on the fitness element required in boxing but also the different techniques involved.
“His session was informative and stimulating for all who were present – he was a credit to the Astley club.”
