Flixton had Adrian Holmes to thank for their win. Signed as an opening bowler, his batting has steadily improved and has never been more influential than on Saturday when he came in at number seven and scored a crucial 30 not out.

David Bowden took 5-32 as Flixton were all out for 161 which looked vulnerable when openers Nick Smith (51) and Bowden (31) took the reply to 60-0.

The wickets then started to tumble with Alton Beckford the star for the home side with 6-40.

At Darcy, where the game was reduced to 28 overs each due to the wet conditions, pro Nekoli Parris scored 48 and Mumtaz Mirza 39 as Bury scored 165-6.

Mukhtar Nasir then took 3-12 off 12 overs and Parris 2-24 off nine as Bury restricted the home side to 81-8, Jimmy Hill top scoring with 14.

Daisy reached their target with eight balls remaining despite the efforts of Jamar Griffith who followed up his 23 top score for Atherton with 3-42.

The table is so tight this season that Edgworth find themselves fifth bottom yet only 17 points behind third place.

After Winton posted 205-8 (Justin Kramersh 46, Richard Johnson 43, Tom Fairclough 3-32) Edgworth’s reply was spearheaded by a third-wicket partnership of 94 between pro Liam Watkinson (49) and Guy Haynes (33).

Himesh Silva destroyed Blackrod with a devastating display.

The Worsley pro hit 57 as his side posted 154-6 and then ripped through the Blackrod batsmen, taking and incredible 8-16 off 11.3 overs as the visitors were all out for just 41.

Simon Hall added 32 to mid-table Worsley’s score with Blackrod pro Thushendra de Zoysa having some joy with the ball as he took 3-35 off 15 overs in the reduced 35-over game.
