CYCLIST Jason Kenny secured Bolton’s first medal of the Commonwealth Games by scooping silver in the team sprint final in Glasgow.
Kenny, Philip Hindes and Kian Emadi were defeated by New Zealand’s Sam Webster, Ed Dawkins and Ethan Mitchell.
Triple Olympic champion Kenny and his fellow London 2012 team sprint winner Philip Hindes could not match their Kiwi rivals in the first two laps, and rookie Amadi clawed it back to finish 0.525 seconds behind Dawkins.
Kenny will be hoping to get on the podium again today by qualifying for the individual sprint today.
