3:46pm

Moxey is slid in behind by Spearing and blasts his shot wide of the far-post but it wouldn't have counted anyway as the assistant referee had his flag raised for offside

3:45pm

And he is now back on the pitch as play continues

3:45pm

Propper is back on his feet and hobbles off the pitch

3:44pm

Propper comes off worst in a 50/50 with Danns, the referee awards a free-kick in the centre-circle and the physio is required

3:43pm

Best chance of the game there for Bolton, only a great save keeps the visitors ahead

3:42pm

McNaughton's cross finds Danns free at the back-post.  He heads the ball back across goal but is kept out thanks to a fantastic save from Velthuizen

The corner is taken short by Prately who plays a one-two with Medo and blasts a shot over the crossbar

3:23pm

Feeney's corner is headed away by Propper but recycled by Spearing and Bolton have another corner

3:22pm

The free-kick is taken short to Medo who loses possession but then wins it back and Feeney wins a corner down the right

3:21pm

Feeney in brought down near the corner flag in the right channel, free-kick to Bolton and a chance to get a decent delivery into the box

3:20pm

The visiting supporters are still in great voice singing and dancing behind Lonergan's goal

3:19pm

Danns attempts an overhead-kick following Feeney's corner but he fails to make the correct contact and Vitesse clear

3:19pm

Feeney's cross from the right is turned behind for a corner

3:18pm

Lonergan makes a howling mistake from the following corner dropping the ball onto the head of Leerdam two-yards out and he somehow heads the ball wide when it looked easier to score! What a chance!

3:17pm

Propper nearly catches Lonergan off guard with an early shot from the edge of the area but the 'keeper reacts well to get down and turn the ball behind

3:15pm

Lonergan comes and punches the corner out for a throw-in on the opposite side

3:15pm

Oliinyk plays in Labyad down the left who gets to the by-line and has his crossed turned behind for a corner by Ream

3:13pm

Propper shoots from all of 30-yards but his effort goes high and wide

3:10pm

Guessing it is for marketing purposes the change of kit

3:10pm

This is the first and probably the last that we will see that kit being wore here at the Macron

3:08pm

Bolton kick-off the second-half

3:07pm

I wonder if it is reversable?

3:07pm

They have changed from their white home kit to their blue away kit

2:44pm

Good pressure from Pratley wins the hosts a throw-in in an attacking position

2:43pm

The corner is dealt with easily by Bolton

2:42pm

And straight down the other end Vitesse break with Qazaishvili who brings out the best in Lonergan, flying low to his bottom left to tip the shot around the post

2:41pm

Danns twists and tuns in the penalty area before getting his shot away which is blocked by a defender.  A brief shout for handball by the Wanderers players in close proximity but the referee quickly waves it away

2:39pm

McNaughton is caught deep and plays three Vitesse players onside. Leerdam bursts through on goal but his cut back is read by McNaughton who makes amends for his error and clears the danger

2:34pm

13 minutes remaining and Bolton haven't caused a real threat so far

2:32pm

He is back on his feet and play continues

2:32pm

It is that quiet I could hear the scream from all the way up here

2:32pm

Beckford leaps for the ball in the air but holds his back and screams as he hits the deck

2:26pm

Troare blasts a low shot wide of goal after neat footwork saw him skip past Mills at the edge of the area

2:24pm

No real urgency in the game so far, Vitesse happy to keep the ball at the back and Bolton struggling to regain possession

2:20pm

Brilliantly executed free-kick from Vejinovic.  Right-footed he bends the ball around the wall and into the corner leaving Lonergan with no chance!

2:18pm

Stunning free-kick from Vejinovic

2:18pm

Medo fouls Wallace 10-yards outside the penalty area and Vitesse have a free-kick in a dangerous area

2:17pm

Lovely intricate passing from the visitors at the edge of the Bolton penalty area however they are yet the penetrate the Whites' defence

2:15pm

Lonergan punches away the corner and the follow up goes behind for a goalkick

2:14pm

Troare menacing down the right-hand side again, this time cutting inside onto his left foot and thundering a shot goalwards that deflects off Moxey and goes behind for a corner

2:13pm

Pratley heads the ball into the ground and straight at the goalkeeper after Beckford got his cross in from the left

2:12pm

Traore links up with Qazaishvili down the right and has his attempted shot blocked by the body of Ream.  McNaughton clears the danger

2:10pm

Mills absolutely hammers a hospital pass from Spearing into the stands - no-nonsense defending from the vice-captain

2:09pm

Close from Beckford as he jinks inside past van der Heijden onto his left foot and fires a shot narrowly wide of the near-post

2:08pm

Brilliant pressure from Feeney, Pratley and Beckford force the ball all the way back to the goalkeeper who lashes the ball back to the Bolton back line

2:07pm

Lonergan is off his line early to collect an attempted through ball

2:06pm

All the noise coming from the 50 or so Vitesse supporters thus far

2:05pm

Beckford the lone man up front

2:05pm

Bolton have lined up as expected in a 4-2-3-1, Medo and Spearing sitting, Feeney wide right, Pratley central and Danns left

2:03pm

The visitors giving everyone an early touch of the ball playing it from midfield to defence

2:03pm

Vitesse get the first-half underway

2:03pm

But back to the important stuff

2:02pm

Just hearing the pitch has been re-laid over the summer, looking superb on this sunny summers afternoon

2:01pm

Claret names and numbers on the back too

2:00pm

Not quite sold on this Vitesse jersey, sky blue with claret arms

1:59pm

Both sides are heading out of the tunnel as we creep closer to kick-off

1:58pm

Very slow internet here, sorry for moments of silence

1:48pm

Just over 10 minute to kick-off here at the Macron

1:40pm

That loss coming in a 3-1 defeat to Chelsea on Wednesday night

1:39pm

Vitesse have not won a single friendly match this pre-season with five draws and one loss

1:39pm

A little bit of background information of todays visitors

  • They finished sixth in the Dutch Eredivisie last season
  • Have an affiliation with Chelsea and receive a number of players on loan from the Blues each season (Wallace and Traore are the two Chelsea loanee's in todays starting line up)
  • Mustapha Riga and Gael Kakuta are two players to have played for both clubs

1:35pm

Jay Spearing also has his first column as Bolton skipper in the programme, he opens with:

'Firstly, I would like to say what a great honour and priviledge it is to be named as club captain here at Bolton Wanderers.'

'It is a proud moment in my career and to follow in the footsteps of some of this club's great captains is very humbling.'

1:33pm

'We're hopeful of making further additions in the very near future, if indeed you have not already read about them by the time you look at these programme notes' - perhaps suggesting he is on the verge of another signing?

1:32pm

Dougie Freedman talks about his transfer policy in his programme notes:

'Regarding the recruitment of players, it is essential to have a strategy in place.  Our was that we would endeavour where possible to make signings, especially if they were Bosmans, as soon as the season ended.'

Hope Mark Davies is involved come the start of the season, could be the key for the club. Would like to see Rob Hall involved too, showed good promise in the games he has played. Mark Davies not being risked?
Looking for a win to go into the season with

Looks like Mark Davies is being rested as not even on the bench

1:29pm

Wanderers are out warming-up in their new Macron training kit..no sign of Vitesse yet though there are a handful of away fans already in and taking the obligatory photos inside

Vitesse starting XI: Velthuizen, Wallace, Leerdam, Vejinovic, Qazaishvili, Propper, Oliinyk, Kruswijk, van der Heijden, Traore, Kashia

The team is worse now than it was last year. No one in the front four seemed to have a clue about what they should be doing. I would also question the ability to do it. Improved slightly when Beckford and Pratley went off. Sitting back and hitting teams on the break is all well and good if you aren't going to concede goals. We are going to concede and we are not going to score. Is playing the ball out from the back an 80 yard cross field ball from Mills. What is wrong with moving into space to receive the ball and then passing to someone in space? Very basic but current personnel cannot do it. Another football lesson given today. The future looks very bleak.

Not even van gaal, wenger or moreno could make a bunch of free transfers into a championship winning side, they won't be getting my money. Good luck dougie, bad luck gartside.

Freedman spending time making excuses about why there is no money and conveniently picks 'loan' players like Tuncay, Miyachi, Boyata and Kakuta as the reason. Notice he didn't mention Butterfield? Didn't mention Bolger who he brought in and paid good money to for over a year without him playing in a competetive game (now he's been told he can move on), he also didn't mention Wiltshire or Sturrige - why not? How many players of that caliber has he brought to the team on loan? If Freedman wants to know why there is no money - stop trying to blame previous managers when his boss is the problem. No players can come into the club unless he 'approves' the loan or purchase, so all those players he named were 'approved' by Gartside - check the signatures on the bottom of their contracts. Freedman is lucky that the club doesn't have any money - otherwise he would have been sacked 6 months ago and the financial situation just means that the club can't afford to sack him and his hanger-ons!!!

Don't know what planet Gartslime is on , the arrogance of the man is breathtaking, its debatable whether he should be dismissed or jailed for gross incompetence, I suppose the same could be said of Freedman, both need to go NOW !
