HAYDEN White has joined League Two strugglers Carlisle United on a one-month loan deal.
The Wanderers youngster has made two starts for the Whites this season – and news that he has been allowed out on loan raises the hope that Kevin McNaughton will be available for this weekend’s trip to Wolves.
White, signed last summer from Sheffield Wednesday, captained the development squad in their 3-1 defeat to West Brom on Monday night at Leyland.
And despite having no permanent manager in charge, his performance was enough to convince caretaker Carlisle boss Paul Thirlwell to make his move.
“The board told us that if we could identify players who we could bring in then we should go ahead and do it,” he told the News and Star.
“Hayden is one we have identified so [academy boss] Alan Moore went along to watch him on Monday night to confirm what we were all thinking.
"He had a good game and we’re delighted we’ve been able to get the deal done.”
