ANDY LONERGAN 7

For someone who shipped seven the last time he played at the Madejski, this was a cathartic 90 minutes. Some top saves.

JOSH VELA 6

Continues to do a manful job in a position he is still learning. Went to sleep a couple of times but also showed some good touches.

MATT MILLS 8

New dad Mills looked determined to shove the jeers back down the Reading fans’ necks. Commanding presence at the back for Bolton.

DORIAN DERVITE 7

Only a few minor blemishes in possession for the Frenchman, who continues to look impressive alongside Mills in the middle of defence.

TIM REAM 7

Exorcised the demons of his performance in January and barely put a foot wrong at the back. Came desperately close to a goal, too.

LIAM FEENEY 6

Ran out of legs in the second half but didn’t get the same kind of service that Clayton enjoyed at times. Crossing was a bit haphazard.

DARREN PRATLEY 8

Some thunderous challenges, neat in possession, covered every blade of the pitch. Might just be Pratley’s best game in a Bolton shirt.

NEIL DANNS 6

Always busy but not quite as effective on the ball as Wanderers would like. His hard work was appreciated by the defenders behind him.

MAX CLAYTON 7

There is room for improvement for the youngster but his intelligent running and delivery made Reading’s full-backs nervous at times.

CHUNG-YONG LEE 7

Kicked out of the game at times – the Korean glided around the pitch when he was given service. Lost his impact late on in the game.

CRAIG DAVIES 5

Lennon suggested a hamstring injury was to blame for a rather below-par performance from the hard-working striker. Difficult afternoon.

Subs: Wilkinson 57 (for Davies) – Added a bit of mobility 6

Spearing 90 (for Danns) – Arrived too late to make impact 6

Hall 90 (for Feeney) – Like Spearing, didn’t have time 6

Not used: Bogdan, Moxey, Spearing, Mason

WANDERERS: 4-4-1-1
