WANDERERS are closing in on contract deals for three senior players and their first signing of the January transfer window.

Neil Lennon has revealed first teamers Neil Danns, Matt Mills and Darren Pratley are close to agreeing an extension to their current deal – and hopes to have their immediate future sorted by next week.

Several players remain unsigned but Lennon has already stated he could sell those who are stalling rather than risk them walking away for nothing next summer.

“We are in talks with a couple of players; hopefully with Danns, Pratley and Millsy eventually we will get over the line with re-signing those guys because we are not too far away,” he told The Bolton News.

“It is important because these players are pivotal to what we are trying to do here.”

Lennon is also thought to be speaking with Serbian winger Marko Milinkovic, who is currently a free agent after leaving Slovan Bratislava.

The left-sided 26-year-old has won three league titles with his club and played in both the Champions League and Europa League, although it is not yet known whether he will be given a work permit.

His last game for Slovan was on December 3 against Zlate Moravce where Milinkovic grabbed both of his side’s goals in a 2-1 victory.

Lennon is desperately short on wide options and appears to have lost Rob Hall for the foreseeable future, with the young winger tweeting a picture of his injured ankle on Saturday night.

The club are expected to confirm how long Hall will be out for in the next few days.

While Mills, Pratley and Danns look close to signing on the dotted line, Lennon admits two of his most prized assets, Adam Bogdan and Chung-Yong Lee remain out of reach for now.

“Chungy that is still up in the air as is Adam,” he said. “We`have a bit of work to be done.”

Bogdan returned to the side in style with a handful of excellent saves to keep a clean sheet against Wigan in what was his first appearance since August.

Lennon admits the Hungarian’s form has given him some food for thought in his battle with Andy Lonergan for the number one jersey.

“He needed a game but Andy to be fair has staked a claim to be number one,” he said. “He won't have done his chances any harm with that performance. It has given us a conundrum going forward.”
