AMIR Khan has jokingly called on Floyd Mayweather Jr to fight him after a prank was played on him by a film crew.

When being asked about his plans for the coming year during a video interview with sponsors RDX Sports, Khan said: “We want the biggest fight in boxing which is Floyd Mayweather.”

“Floyd Mayweather is the biggest name in boxing and that’s who I want”.

The film crew then donned masks bearing the American fighter’s face and began to play-fight with two-time world champion Khan.

Khan laughed off the joke and, as the crew circled him, said: “I don’t want to hurt you all, because if I ever fight Mayweather I’m going to end up knocking him out.”

The Bolton fighter, aged 28, then put on his own Mayweather mask and began impersonating five-division world champion Mayweather.

Waving a wad of fake dollars he said: “I’m scared of Amir Khan - I don’t want to fight him. I’m running scared.”

He then removed the mask and address the camera directly, shouting: “Shut up Floyd Mayweather and get it done man! Come on, let’s get it done!

"It’s 2015 and everyone wants to see the fight so let’s get it,” before adding “Who are ya?”

Mayweather is expected to announce a May 2 bout with Manny Pacquiao in the near future which would likely become the biggest money fight in boxing history.

The two fighters have so far failed to agree the details, but negotiations are thought to be reaching a conclusion.

Khan comfortably defeated American Devon Alexander in Las Vegas last December, adding weight to the argument that he has earned a fight with Mayweather – who is widely considered to be the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world and is undefeated after 47 professional fights.
