LOAN star Simeon Slavchev knows all about Wanderers but might find his new team-mates are a little taller than he remembers.

The Sporting Lisbon midfielder was the first of four players snapped up on transfer deadline day – and knew exactly what he was walking into at the Macron Stadium.

Already given the lowdown by fellow Bulgarian and ex-Whites favourite Martin Petrov, the 21-year-old also had a special reason for holding his new club close to his heart.

“I’m here because I like this club,” he told Wanderers’ YouTube channel.

“I remember when I was a child and Bolton was in the Premier League – Martin Petrov was here before me, I know a lot of things about the club.

“And when I played the computer game FIFA, my team was always Bolton.

“It’s good that this happened to me and as soon as possible I’d like to feel the atmosphere.”

Slavchev is highly-rated on the continent but has struggled to get regular football at Sporting since swapping his home country for Portugal last May.

“At my previous club I did not play a lot and I want to change that because I’m a young player and I think I deserve to play more,” he said.

“I think Bolton is the right place for me.

“It’s a great honour to be here. I want to help myself and help the team achieve wins and to be a better player.

“I’m here to play my football, improve my skills and, of course, make the fans happier than they were before.”
