NEIL Lennon heaped praise on new loan signing Saidy Janko after his stunning strike helped sink Fulham.

The Manchester United youngster put Wanderers into the lead 10 minutes from time with a rasping strike on his debut.

Adam Le Fondre capped off the victory with his first Bolton goal before the end, lifting the Whites into 13th position – their highest placing since Lennon’s arrival in October.

And the Northern Irishman gave credit to the 19-year-old Janko for the quality of his strike – his first in professional football.

“He’s got that in his game,” he told The Bolton News. “There is very little back-lift but how he gets the power in the shot, it’s unstoppable.

“We battered them – had one off the line and the keeper made a couple of very good saves, I was thinking ‘here we go, they’ll get one on the break.’ “But thankfully the second goal allayed all the worry and the third was the icing on the cake.”

After a dismal defeat at Derby at the weekend, Lennon was delighted to see his side back to their best.

And while they found themselves behind early on to Shaun Hutchinson’s close range effort, Eidur Gudjohnsen’s third goal of the season put the Whites back on level terms just before the break.

A switch to a 4-4-2 formation in the second half signalled a spell of complete dominance from Wanderers but they had to remain patience before sealing the win late on.

“It was a superb performance and exactly the sort of response I was looking for after Saturday,” Lennon said.

“Second half we were superb and played some great attacking football.

“We looked more intense, stronger, and having Neil Danns back in midfield – him and Barry Bannan were excellent after half time “I think Janko got better as the game went on, more confident, and the goal will have done him the world of good, he deserved it.

“Eidur Gudjohnsen got his goal, that will do him the world of good because of his inexperience. He’s a genius of a player and I’ve got to say his influence around the place is immeasurable at times.

“I also thought Liam Feeney was outstanding start to finish, playing in a different position than he has been used to.”
