WANDERERS (3-4-1-2)

ADAM BOGDAN 6: Some questions about his positioning on the winning goal but the Hungarian had made a couple of handy saves earlier in the game.

DORIAN DERVITE 5: Caught square for Hooper’s winner but the centre-half had wasted a lot of possession during the course of the match. Not good enough.

TIM REAM 6: Ream hadn’t done much wrong, other than losing out to Cameron in an aerial battle that led to the winning goal. Perhaps guilty of over-playing at times.

DEAN MOXEY 6: Completely missing for Norwich’s second when he should have been covering Ream. Shame, as he had been quite secure in an unfamiliar centre-back role.

LIAM FEENEY 5: Ran hard all day but his end product was virtually non-existent. Got himself into some great positions on the right but his crossing was poor.

JOSH VELA 6: Recovered from a dodgy start – giving away the free-kick which led to the first goal - to have a good second half. Defensively he was solid, using the ball well.

BARRY BANNAN 7: Grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck after half time and deserved more from the game. The Scot is finishing this season very strongly indeed.

TOM WALKER 7: Faded in the last half hour but his delivery for Le Fondre’s goal was outstanding and he was a constant menace early on in his left-wingback role.

EIDUR GUDJOHNSEN 5: Never really got himself into the game, coming deeper and deeper into midfield before being replaced by Neil Danns late on.

EMILE HESKEY 7: Battered from pillar to post, Heskey again attracted defenders like magnets. His presence has, however, made a rather too easy out-ball for Wanderers.

ADAM LE FONDRE 7: Razor sharp to get ahead of his marker and get on the end of Walker’s cross in the first half and had another one cleared off the line.

Subs: Danns 81 (for Gudjohnsen) – Brought on to try and see the game out

Janko 86 (for Walker) – Didn’t get a chance to use his pace

Not used: Lonergan, Mark Davies, Trotter, Rochinha, McCarthy.

STAR MAN: Barry Bannan - Not a clear-cut decision by any stretch – but the Scot’s general sense of urgency in the second half and more economical use of the ball put him a shade ahead of Emile Heskey and Tom Walker. The Crystal Palace midfielder is finishing the season well, and must be a strong candidate to be a summer signing for Neil Lennon.

NORWICH CITY (4-2-3-1)

JOHN RUDDY 6

STEVEN WHITTAKER 6

RUSSELL MARTIN 7

SEBASTIEN BASSONG 7

MARTIN OLSSON 6

WES HOOLAHAN 6

ALEX TETTEY 7

NATHAN REDMOND 7

JONNY HOWSON 7

GRAHAM DORRANS 7

CAMERON JEROME 6

Subs: Grabban 6, 56 (for Hoolahan), Hooper 6, 66 (for Redmond), Bennett 6, 71 (for Whittaker)

Not used: Rudd, E Bennett, O'Neil, Odjidja-Ofoe.

THEIR STAR MAN: Graham Dorrans - Always a threat in and around the penalty box, the Scottish midfielder got a slice of luck for his goal but deserved it on work-rate alone. Part of a well-organised Norwich attack which must rate as the best in the division.

Booked: Wanderers – Walker 26 (foul on Whittaker), Moxey 89 (timewasting). Norwich – R Bennett 79 (foul on Heskey)

Sent off: None

Attendance: 16.027 (2,100)

Referee: James Adcock (Nottingham) 4/10 - Horrendously inconsistent. Booked Moxey and Walker for minor indiscretions and missed a hack on Ream from Jerome.

Goals: Wanderers – Le Fondre 18, Norwich – Dorrans 9, Hooper 90 (+2).

Entertainment: 7/10 - An impressively open game. Norwich played some great stuff early on but Wanderers took on the mantle once Barry Bannan and Josh Vela got a hold in midfield. Then there was that late twist, which is becoming far too frequent an occurrence with Lennon’s side this season.

Atmosphere: 7/10 - Norwich brought an impressive 2,100 travelling fans from Norfolk and they were on song most of the afternoon, especially on the way out of the stadium. Wanderers’ fans really kicked into gear in the second half, directing some considerable heat towards referee Adcock.

Match point: Just see the game out! Wanderers powder-puff defending at the end made it feel like Groundhog Day. If the Whites had just shut up shop they would have been celebrating a decent point against one of the Championship’s best sides. Instead it’s the same old story.

Magic moment: Emile Heskey’s mazy run in the second half, evading three would-be challengers, brought the biggest cheer of the day. He might be 37 – but the old man has still got some magic in his boots!
