THE Rushton father and sons made it a family affair when Little Lever 2nd XI beat Heaton last Sunday.
Dad Dave and bowling son Joe took all 10 wickets between them, while wicketkeeper son Arron took a catch, a stumping and scored a third of his side's runs on his debut for the club.
It is nothing new for the family to take all 10 wickets in a game, having achieved the feat previously AGAINST Little Lever.
Sunday's game saw fourth-placed Little Lever beat bottom club Heaton by 60 runs at home.
Little Lever posted 96 before the Victory Road men whittled out the visitors for just 36 with Joe taking 6-19 and Dave 4-14.
"It was funny because I had t-shirts done a bit ago saying 'It's a Rushton thing' a bit ago and then it was a Rushton thing in this game," said Dave.
"We have done it to Little Lever before when we were playing for Farnworth about three years ago. All three of us had a bowl then and I took seven wickets, Joe two and Arron one.
"It was funny that we've done it again this time for Little Lever.
"We didn't realise at the time that we had a chance of taking all 10. It was only after the game that we knew.
"We just love playing cricket."
