FORMER Canon Slade School pupil Ashley Fletcher is making his presence felt at Manchester United after scoring twice for their reserve team in the last two weeks.
The 19-year-old striker has pushed himself into the squad recently after an injury-hit season.
Fletcher, who previously went to The Oaks Primary School in Sharples, scored in Tuesday night's Elite Development Squad 4-0 victory over Manchester City in front of almost 17,000 fans at Old Trafford to add to a goal he got against Southampton.
Head of sport at Canon Slade, Steve Robinson, who was watching his former pupil on Tuesday, said: "He's had to bide his time to get into the team, mainly because of injury, but he's done very well in the last couple of weeks and we are very proud of him at the school."
