TOM Walker signed his first professional contract with Wanderers yesterday.

The Academy graduate burst on to the first team scene this season, making 11 appearances for Neil Lennon and scoring his first senior goal against Wigan Athletic.

He has been rewarded with a pro deal alongside three other scholars, although the length of the contract has not been released by the club.

Another home-spun player, Rob Holding, will make the step up to senior grade after a loan spell at Bury last season.

Wanderers have also confirmed that Yvan Wassi – recruited from Manchester City’s Academy – and Channing Campbell-Young – snapped up from Tottenham – have also been given their first professional contract. Both players have yet to sample senior football but have played for both the development squad and Under-18s this season.

Goalkeeper Harry Campbell has been offered a similar deal but is yet to put pen to paper.

Youngsters Jamie Thomas, Tyler Garrett and Chris Cvetko have all received offers to extend their scholarships.
