ADAM Bogdan is staying tight-lipped about his plans amidst mounting rumour he is on his way to Liverpool.

The Hungarian keeper, whose contract with Wanderers expires at the end of the month, batted away suggestion he is on his way to Anfield while on international duty this week but said his future would become clear within the next fortnight.

The Whites have made an offer to the 27-year-old which would make him one of the highest earners in the squad but have heard nothing from the player’s representatives in recent weeks.

Speaking at home in Hungary, Bogdan knocked back the Liverpool link, claiming it to be “mere speculation.”

Perhaps more pertinently, however, he admitted he is seeking a top-flight club if the right opportunity comes along.

He told Nemzeti Sport: “I am confident that soon will decide my fate.

“My goal is to play at a higher level, but it also depends on where you get a chance.

"We'll see, everything is decided in the next week or two.”

Bogdan is in the Hungary squad to face Lithuania in a friendly in Debrecen tonight and will remain in Hungary for the European qualifier against Finland a week tomorrow.

If he decides to leave, Neil Lennon would be without a single senior goalkeeper in his squad less than a month before the start of pre-season training.

Manchester United’s Ben Amos, who will be available on a free transfer, looks a strong possibility but Bogdan’s exit would certainly come as a significant blow for the Wanderers boss, who made it abundantly clear he wanted him as number one next season.

A handful of Whites players are currently away on international duty including Neil Danns (Guyana), Eidur Gudjohnsen (Iceland) and Conor Wilkinson (Republic of Ireland Under-21s).

Youngsters Georg Iliev (Bulgaria) and Luke Woodland (Philippines), who will be released in the summer, are also away to play for their country.

Despite the lack of tangible transfer activity at Wanderers the rumour mill continues to operate, with two more players linked with moves to the Macron overnight.

Real Sociedad striker Alfred Finbogasson is a reported loan option, although his salary demands are likely to put him out of reach for Wanderers.

Manchester City prospect Seko Fofana has also been mentioned as a possible target in the national press, with the French midfielder having spent time in the Championship last season with Fulham.
