SOME familiar names were included on the Premier League’s retained list today, including Wanderers target Ben Amos.

The keeper was officially freed by Manchester United and is now in discussions with the Whites about a permanent move.

Midfielder Jordan Lussey has now left Liverpool, paving the way for him to return to the Macron Stadium, where he spent the latter part of last season on loan.

Elsewhere, some of last season’s loanees were also given free transfers including Chris Herd at Aston Villa and Owen Garvan at Crystal Palace.

Those with longer memories may recall Japanese winger Ryo Miyaichi, who has left Arsenal.

Whites legend Jussi Jaaskelainen was also handed a free transfer by West Ham after three years at Upton Park.

The big Finn was one of a few star names on the list, with Steven Gerrard and Glen Johnson confirming their departure at Anfield, Micah Richards leaving Manchester City and Didier Drogba at Chelsea.

And a few names who didn’t quite make it to Bolton also popped up – Peter Ramage of Crystal Palace, QPR’s Shaun Wright-Phillips and Joey Barton, and West Brom’s Chris Baird, who were all targets of Wanderers managers in the past.
