WANDERERS have offered a contract to former Real Sociedad youth product Jon Ceberio.

The club has handed a short-term deal to the midfielder after a short trial, and he is expected to work with the development squad for the time being.

Ceberio had played for Spanish youth team Antiguoko KE – the same club that helped shape the careers of Xabi Alonso and Mikel Arteta.

Fans got a brief glimpse of him in the first half against Atherton Collieries on Saturday and he also featured in Monday night’s 3-1 win at Gainsborough.

Meanwhile, Tim Ream wants to bring a winner’s medal home to Bolton from his first Gold Cup tournament.

The American defender watched from the bench as his side made a winning start to this year’s tournament with a 2-1 victory over Honduras.

Ream has been used exclusively as a substitute in the warm-up to the CONCACAF competition, which is North and Central America’s version of the European Championships.

But his vantage point was a lot better than two years ago, when Jurgen Klinsmann surprisingly left him out of his squad.

Speaking just before the start of the tournament, the 27-year-old felt the US were in the right frame of mind to defend the trophy they have won on five previous occasions.

“I’m looking forward to being involved in my second Gold Cup, after missing out in 2013,” he said. “It’s a tough competition, with so many games in a short amount of time.

“The mood in camp is great right now. We are all very confident heading into the first game, especially after winning our friendly against Guatemala on Friday.

“Being with the national team is a huge honour, obviously, but it is a lot of hard work with all the training, meetings and team activities that are planned every day.

“I want to have a winners’ medal at the end of this Gold Cup. This tournament will take all 23 guys pulling in the same direction for the duration. I hope to get some playing time and contribute in any way possible.”

Two goals from Clint Dempsey gave Klinsmann's side the perfect start in the Toyata Stadium in Texas, as the US took command of their group.

The next game will be on Friday evening when they face Haiti at the Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts.

The final group game will be played against Panama on Monday evening in Kansas.
