WILL Berry became the first amateur player in Daisy Hill's history to take all 10 wickets in a match last weekend.

The 21-year-old's memorable figures of 10-29 off 11.3 overs led the third team to victory over Hindley St Peters.

He joins former professional Faisal Alfridi as the only two players to have taken 10 wickets for the club at any level.

And he admits he cannot shake the feeling of his perfect 10 has given him.

"It feels amazing," said the medium fast bowler who flits between the first, second and third teams for Daisy.

"It's such an achievement, I've not stopped looking back at it yet.

"I just keep thinking about it all the time and it makes me feel great.

"It's such a confidence-booster."

He got off to a flying start in the West Lancashire League game with a wicket from his first ball and three in his first over.

And when he got half way he started thinking about the possibility of taking all 10.

"When I got to five I thought about it," he said. "Then when I got to eight I thought this might be my day."

Daisy Hill are top of the league and need 24 points from their last three games to seal the title.

By a quirk of the fixture list, Daisy Hill play Hindley St Peters again on Sunday in the reverse league game when the Wigan opponents will no doubt be wary of Berry.

"It will be funny playing them again so quick," he said.

"It would be nice to do it again but we'll have to see how it goes."
