MATTHEW Leach inspired Lostock to their third consecutive win with a century against Winton, writes Mikael McKenzie.

Opener Leach – who is Lostock's top scorer with 453 runs this year – made up nearly a third of his tally by striking 141 off 121 balls which included 21 boundaries.

He was backed up by Connor Hicklin who hit 42 as they closed their innings with a total 255-9. Will Driver did the most damage with the ball bowling 6-58.

Winton's main threat in reply came from middle-order batsman Darren Carter who struck 53 not out, but the majority of his team-mates fell victim to David Flanagan who posted impressive bowling figures of 6-50 to dismissed the hosts 91 runs short of the target.

Mike Chilton also struck a century for Daisy Hill as they were defeated by in-form Adlington.

Simon Trim top-scored with 57 for the Huyton Road side – who recorded their fifth win on the bounce – and Majid Majeed (37) and Jack Shovelton (30) also scored high to post a total of 245-7.

Naveed Yousuf was the only bowler of note taking 4-71.

Daisy must have thought the target was very much achievable, especially with the form Chilton was showing. With his knee strapped up from the previous weekend's injury he sustained a two-hour batting period to emerge with a 103 total.

However, his efforts proved to be in vain as Iain Critchley (3-78) and co. bowled them out for 211.

Mike Gould and Jordan O’Malley both bowled five-wicket hauls as Worsley and Astley and Tyldesley clashed in a mid-table affair.

A&T opened the batting and Travis Wordsworth who top-scored with 45 before Sam Lowe added 31. Worsley skipper Gould bowled 5-31 inside six overs and Schaughn Van Greunen took 3-36 as they bowled their opponents out for 124.

Gould then turned his hand to the bat and hit 23 – the highest scoring player on his side, with only extras (28) bettering his score. O'Malley attempted to halt the gradually increasing reply with figures of 5-43 but Worsley recovered to secure the win with three wickets to spare.

Calllum Barlow led Atherton to back-to-back wins with victory away to Darcy Lever.

Following some recent patchy form, Atherton are back up to fifth after adding to the previous weekend's victory over Little Hulton.

Ather Abid (72) and James Hill (31) were the notable batters for the hosts who completed their overs for a total of 188-9 – with majority of the wickets falling to Jamar Griffith (5-60).

Barlow led the reply with the bat striking 88 and Scott Ryan added 60 not out to wrap up the win to the loss of only three wickets – of which all fell to Andrew Patel (3-47).

Little Hulton recorded a home win against Standish.

Nekoli Parris (43) and wicketkeeper Phillip Wolstenholme (32no) scored high for the hosts who were bowled out for 216 - Israr Ul Haq did the most damage with figures of 4-71.

Nick Smith scored a half-century in reply but tidy bowling from Adam Newton (3-52) and Mark Penny (3-44) restricted Standish to 204-7 – 12 runs short of the target.
