EACH week, we chat to a local football manager talking about their team.

This week Dave Walker from Ladybridge gives us the inside track about the St John's Sportsground side and chats to Your Sport about their ambitions in the West Lancashire Football League Division One.

Don't forget to check out the video with extra footage about Ladybridge and the interview with Dave.

WE have had a good start to the season first of all getting a result against Turton.

That was a good performance as they were the runners-up in the league last season and we did well against them.

We then played Tempest United and in the first half we did not play as well as we know we can going 1-0 down

Then in the second half we were the better team and equalised but Tempest managed to get all of the points.

Then we took on Lytham who up to that point were boasting a 100 per cent record in the league.

But we were excellent all over park and they won 4-1.

We were in rampant form and were convincing.

Jordan Coop met Kurtis Monson's cross to head home on 20 minutes.

We were fully in control of the game and doubled the lead on 30 minutes when Sam Parkinson latched onto Coop's through ball to finish well.

I thought we could have been further ahead as Nathan Monson was also brought down in the box after running clear but the referee waved it way and there was no penalty kick and I thought it could have been a red card.

The second half continued in the same fashion and we quickly raced three goals up when Sam (Parkinson) again found the net thanks to a fine finish after Nathan Monson hit a fantastic through-ball.

Nathan and Sam combined yet again after the hour and Sam managed to grab his hat-trick.

We continued to pass the ball well in that game but it was Lytham who grabbed a consolation goal on 80 minutes to complete the scoring.

I was delighted as it was a very comfortable victory and a good performance from us.
