OSCAR Threlkeld is close to agreeing a loan deal with League Two Plymouth.
The 21-year-old academy graduate has recently returned from a thigh injury but made his return for the development squad in their 1-1 draw against Birmingham City on Monday night.
He was poised to join Argyle in the summer on a season-long loan but was forced to delay the move, which was also made by team-mate Andy Kellett last season.
Threlkeld has been on the fringes of the Wanderers first team for the last 18 months, making seven appearances, one as a substitute.
Asked about the defender this morning, Argyle manager Derek Adams said: “That’s a possibility. There is talk between the clubs so we will have to wait and see.
“He picked up an injury in pre-season training with Bolton and played on Monday night.
“He can play in midfield as well as defence. He’s a possibility, but it would be him or somebody else.”
Argyle’s chief scout Greg Strong is a former Wanderers defender.
