Mitchells Unicorn went top of the BSF Over 35s Football League Division One with a 5-2 win at Atherton Town.

Dave Fashou and Darryl Martinez scored for the home side, but were no match for Mitchells for whom Danny Butters scored two and Mark Galbraith, Paul Stritch and Gary Newbold adding one apiece.

It was the same score at Cheers Bar, but the home side took the points from Digmoor, who drop to third.

Andy Long and Daniel Jordan scored two each and John Coogan made it five. John Shaw and John Stalker scored one each for Digmoor.

Moorside Rangers moved up to second spot as a result of their 3-1 win away to Queen Lizzy for whom Lee Montgomery scored, but two by Tony Weal and one from John Smith gave Moorside the points.

North Walkden moved a point above Turton Bay Mare thanks to winning 2-1 at Turton. Gas Painton and Steve Williams scored the Walkden goals and Stu Williams netted for Turton.

Barr Hill Priory stay top of Division Two, one point ahead of Golborne Park Side with whom they shared the points, but Golborne will be cursing their luck.

Stephen Hughes and Glover were on target for Golborne, but an own goal added to a Barry Massey goal gave the home side a point to stay top, however Golborne have a game in hand.

Chorlton Sports visited Breightmet United A and scored five, three by Paul Worsley and two by Noel Coleman, but these were overshadowed by a Breightmet nine-goal blitz.

Andy Buckley scored five with Damian Smith and Michael Shaw contributing two apiece to leave Chorlton at the foot of the table.

The match between PF Bury and Mersey Valley Vets produced seven goals, but it was all one-way traffic as Mersey Valley won 7-0 with seven different scorers netting one each.

Nick Moors, Rob Glover, Andy Greig, Lee Da Silva, John Gilmartin, Peter Maloney and Ken Ramsbottom all hit the mark.

Astley Bridge pulled level on points with Ashtonians with a satisfying 4-2 away win. Mark Slone scored a hat-trick and Scott Hilton the other and Mike Hamilton scored both goals for Ashtonians.

BLGC Vets won their first match of the season with Wes Gallagher, Harry Spencer and Kevin Taylor scoring to take three points at Ainsworth A for whom Vasaya scored both their goals.

In Division Three, goals from Carl Howard and Anthony Healey gave Dobbie A a home win over Breightmet United B.

Spotland Social are a point clear at the top following a narrow 3-2 home win over Ainsworth B with Hill (two) and Bradshaw scoring their goals, but second-placed Bolton Wyresdale boosted their goal difference by beating Dobbies B 5-2. Simon Walsh, Gary Corr, Ste Carney (two) and A.Jones were on target.

Homeguard Vets Failsworth are joint second and have the same impressive goal difference as Wyresdale, but have a game in hand which could take them to the top.

Rob Black scored five with Paul Lewis and Peter Lennon hitting one apiece as they demolished Heaton Casuals 7-1.

There were also goals aplenty when Elton Liberals won 5-1 at home to Cross Guns.
