TURTON and Tempest have been drawn against Blackpool Wren Rovers and Royton Town respectively in the quarter-finals of the Lancashire Amateur Shield.

Turton are at home while fellow West Lancashire League Division One promotion hopefuls Tempest travel to Royton's 3G surface.

All games are on Saturday, November 14, 1.30pm kick off.

The Lancashire Shield is the most prestigious football cup competition in the county and Turton and Tempest will be hoping to emulate the last local side to win it, Eagley in 2013.

That marked the high point in Eagley's successful spell under manager Paul Marriott, capping the treble which also included the league title and the Hospital Cup.

It was Eagley's third successive appearance in the Lancashire Shield final and their 3-0 victory over Charnock Richard – who had beaten Marriott's men in the two previous finals – and was the first time they had won the Shield for more than 50 years.

Seven of the eight remaining teams in this year's competition play in the West Lancashire League with Royton Town members of the Manchester League.

Full draw: Turton FC v Blackpool Wren Rovers, Poulton Town v Hurst Green, Royton Town v Tempest United, Charnock Richard v Longridge Town.
