FORMER Wanderers star Per Frandsen was rushed to hospital on Thursday night with a blood clot in his heart, The Bolton News understands.
The Danish midfielder, who made more than 300 appearances for the Whites in two distinguished spells between 1996 and 2004, is said to be in a stable condition at his home near Copenhagen.
Frandsen was due to visit the UK this weekend watching his beloved Wanderers on Monday night when they host Brentford.
The 45-year-old was also planning to drop in on ex-Bolton coach Neil McDonald, whose Blackpool side entertain Fleetwood Town.
Frandsen, who was voted the 19th greatest Wanderers player of all-time in 2005, regularly travels back to Bolton to visit friends he made over several years in the area, where he also turned out for Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic.
Capped 23 times by Denmark the former midfielder had taken charge of second division outfit AB in June, having previously worked in the Academy set-up at Brondby.
Wanderers wished him well in his recovery via Twitter.
