ZACH Clough’s move to Bristol City appears to be on the verge of collapse.

The Bolton News understands that the Robins are getting ready to pull the plug on the £2million deal to take the 20-year-old striker to Ashton Gate.

Reports have claimed that Clough had been undecided on leaving the Macron Stadium despite being offered a lucrative deal in the South West.

He was pulled out of Saturday’s FA Cup clash with Eastleigh but named on the bench at Hillsborough, coming on for the last six minutes.

“I can’t comment on whether he wants to go or not because I haven’t had chance to speak with him properly, and he was away on Sunday,” said Lennon after tonight’s 3-2 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday.

“He didn’t train yesterday because he had a slight hip problem but I think she should be okay for Saturday at Nottingham Forest unless circumstances change again.”

Lennon lashed out at the lack of guidance he has been given on Clough and Mark Davies – who sat out tonight’s game – from within his own club.

“It’s becoming farcical because there is no information,” he told The Bolton News. “We’ve lost Mark Davies for the last two games. I don’t know if a deal has been done or not.

“He could have been playing for me and I can’t afford to lose that quality of player.

“It could be the same with Zach – he’s been down to Bristol for talks and nothing has happened. It’s becoming a pain in the neck, to tell the truth.

“You don’t know what team you are picking from one game to the next.”
