THERE was a good turnout for the 34th Lostock 6 road race on Sunday with both the male and female course records broken on the day.

Chris Steele of Border Harriers and Athletic Club won the men's race in 29mins 48secs and Elizabeth Greenwood of Blackburn Harriers and Athletic Club (35:52) took the honours in the women's race with 245 runners competing in total.

Colin Gregory (36:03) was the first home for Lostock beating Tom Smith (36:19).

Organisers thanks sponsors Tobutt Sports, the Barnstormers for the use of the pub for registration and prizegiving, Ernill's Bakers who supplied the flapjacks, St John Ambulance for first-aid cover, MBDA and Heritage for the use of the car parks and all the marshals for their help – with a mention also to Emma Davies and Mark Shuttleworth for their hard work.
