BRADSHAW, Farnworth and Westhoughton all progressed to the second round of the Lancashire Knockout on Sunday.

Tom Liversedge starred for the Rigbys outfit scoring 86 not out as they defeated Enfield with three overs to spare.

Professional Diego Rosier and skipper Tiarnan Hamill both hit 35 as the Accrington side posted 172-8.

Atiq Uz-Zaman (32) and Liversedge spearheaded the reply which was seen off with three wickets to spare.

Bradshaw's win set up a second-round clash with Bootle who cruised past Bolton League table-toppers Farnworth Social Circle.

The Piggott Park side were bowled out for 54 and only had Chris Barrow (34) hitting double figures.

Jackson Knight led the reply, smashing 31 as the target was achieved for the loss of only two wickets.

Farnworth progressed by dumping out Austerlands in a rain-reduced 27-over game.

Ross Sutton and Imran Mirza both scored 29 with the bat as the Lavender Road side set their visitors a target of 142-8.

Professional Sachin Rana struck a half-century in reply but the formidable Adil Nisar, who already has four centuries to his name this season, showed he is just as capable with the ball taking six wickets for only 30 runs.

Chris Wilson also chipped in with two wickets as Austerlands were dismissed for 130 – 12 runs short of the target.

Farnworth will now face former Bolton Association club Flixton in the second round.

Westhoughton booked their place in the next round by beating Dukinfield.

Qaisar Abbas led the Howfeners' batting attack, scoring 80no and Danny Naylor added 43. Charlie Honour also chipped in with 22 as the hosts posted a total of 182-5 after their 35-over rain-affected innings.

Lewis Riley led the reply, scoring 49, but when Abbas turned his hand to the ball he took 3-39 and the visitors could only tally 164-6 as their overs expired.

Westhoughton will face Denton St Lawrence in the second round.

Lostock bowed out at the first hurdle with a damaging defeat to Darwen.

Dave Bowden (45) and John Cordingley (71) impressed with the bat for Darwen as they ran up a total of 211-8, despite the best efforts of Rob Holgate (3-42) and Tom Sheen (2-34).

Matt Leach top scored with 26 for Lostock but they were bowled out for 81. Neil Cordingley and Bowden did the most damage with the ball posting figures of 3-13 and 2-4 respectively.

Meanwhile, in the Bolton League's Heineken 40-over competition Heaton continued their impressive start to the season by knocking out Blackrod.

Skipper Chris Sanderson (27) and Thushendra de Zoysa (26) top scored for the Vicarage Road side but they were bowled out for 129.

Ahmed Matloob was the only bowler of note taking 3-26.

The reply got off to a horrendous start as the first three batsmen fell for a total of four runs, but Mustafa Bashir turned the tide with a tidy knock of 34.

Haroon Farhat entered the fray and hit 43no to complete the comeback with three overs and wickets to spare.

Little Lever's clash with Atherton was abandoned after one over because of a waterlogged pitch.
