DRAMA surrounded Darcy Lever's final-ball winner at home to Lostock on Saturday.

Dominic Gavin took six wickets and Scott Burns claimed three as the visitors were bowled out for 114.

Jake Cooper hit 22 in reply for Darcy but with little support the game looked dead and buried with nine wickets down.

Yet last two Toseef Hanif (24 not out) and Freddie Oliver (26no) batted resiliently to give Darcy hope going into the final over.

Requiring 12 runs, the final-wicket partnership closed to gap to four with one ball remaining before Hanif smashed the last delivery for six to spark wild celebrations.

And Darcy captain Jimmy Walsh-Hill was ecstatic with his side for snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.

“We never once looked like we were going to get back into the game, we were always up against it and always behind,” he said. “They put on a decent score of 114 given the condition of the wicket.

“Freddie (Oliver) and Toss (Hanif) were unbelievable for us and Jake Cooper really helped to lay the foundations.

“We were on our last wicket and needed four off the last ball and Toss hit a six, it was unbelievable – I think it's still travelling now!

“It was one of the most dramatic matches I have ever played in. There were crazy celebrations as we never thought we would get a four on the last ball.”

Atiq uz-Zaman scored a century for Bradshaw as they secured a 48-run victory at home to Little Hulton.

Zaman's 105, alongside Jake O'Byrne's 37, enabled Bradshaw to post a total of 222-7.

Little Hulton were set a revised target of 204 from 32 overs after rain interrupted the second innings and Imran Butt gave them a fighting chance, scoring 64, while Adam Newton added 44.

But fine bowling from Shahzaib Khan (6-46) meant Little Hulton were stranded on 156-9.

Darren Whittle scored 57 for Kearsley as they were bowled out for 171 against Adlington. Majeed did the most damage with the ball taking a five-wicket haul.

The professional then knocked 45 when he turned his hand to the bat but Kearsley bowled his side out for 140.
