FOUR Bolton players were in the Lancashire team that played in the first-ever women's county game at Edgbaston.

Megan Fairclough captained Sunday's side that included fellow Egerton player Bhumika Doshi, Astley Bridge's Shachi Pai and Horwich RMI's Nalisha Patel.

It was the second game in a Twenty20 double header against Sussex and Warwickshire.

Lancashire began by beating last year's T20 champions Sussex at the Edgbaston Foundation Ground to seal their place in the top division next season. Fairclough and Patel both chipped in vital wickets as Sussex were bowled out for 92 in reply to Lancashire's 110-5.

The girls then moved on to Edgbaston's main ground to take on Warwickshire where good number of spectators stayed after the men's T20 game to see the home side win by 31 runs.

Patel scored an unbeaten 23 and Pai adding an unbeaten 25 at the end.

Lancashire play their final T20 game of the season against Yorkshire at Leigh on Sunday at Leigh 2.30pm start.
