BOLTON Cricket League lost the final of the North West Under-21 Inter-league competition by six wickets today.

The local lads paid for a poor batting performance which mustered just 112 runs before being bowled out by their North Staffordshire and South Cheshire League rivals at Aigburth, Liverpool.

Bolton, who beat the same side by one run in the group stage of the competition, got off to a good start when openers Tom Billington (33) and Sam Hardman (16) put 42 on the board before the first wicket was lost.

But no one else managed any score of note and North Staffordshire knocked off the required runs for the loss of four wickets in 34.1 overs.

Jay Chhana was Bolton's best bowler with 2-21.
