THE BSF Over-35s Football League continued to produce some high-scoring games with five at Hindsford Vets and nine at Queen Lizzie, however, in both cases the home side won by just one goal.

Dave Fashou scored two and Darryl Martinez one for Hindsford to keep them top of Division One, but Barry Massey and Brian Love scored for Barr Hill to make it a close finish.

Queen Lizzie lost by the odd goal in nine last week, but picked up the points on Sunday when they beat North Walkden 5-4.

Clint McLaughlin scored a hat-trick while Mark Whiteley and Lee Little added one each to earn the points.

Hindsford and Queen Lizzie are the only Division One teams to have played all four games to date, however, Mitchells Unicorn are just one point behind the leaders with a game in hand following their 3-0 home win against Digmoor thanks to goals by Butters, Anthony and Stritch.

Mersey Valley A are in third having drawn a game, but took three points with an emphatic 6-0 win against Bamford Arms. Steve Dimitch, Wayne Barlow, Gary Rowbotham and Dave Fahey scored one apiece and Moores struck twice.

Radcliffe Old Boys A and Astley Bridge top Division Two and both were involved in high-scoring games, the highest being at Astley Bridge who beat Heaton Vets 6-3. Mark Sloan, Lee Murgatroyd and Des Wilcox each scored two while Sutcliffe (two) and John Harmer replied for Heaton Vets.

Their massive goal difference of plus19 puts Radcliffe Old Boys A top following a 7-0 drubbing of Deans Youth. Godridge, Carl Beswick and Mark Fitton all scored twice and Mark Hollins once.

Old Boltonians drew level with Golborne Parkside as Seddon (two) and Stuart Stokes goals gave Old Bolts their second victory of the season.

The game between Radcliffe Vets and Bolton Lads and Girls Club also produced a 3-0 scoreline, but visitors BLGC took the points thanks to Andy Kitchen, Veejay Mistry and Del Rosso.

The Division Three table sees unbeaten AFC Dobbies at the top after Jamie McDonald (two), Anthony Healey and Dave Mallius gave them a 4-0 victory over Ainsworth B with Heaton Casuals, also unbeaten, a couple of points behind.

Casuals beat Elton Liberals, for whom Paul O’Keefe and Leroy Reid scored, 3-2.

Steve Anderton and Kieron Morris scored two each to give Atherton Town victory over Radcliffe Old Boys B who failed to find the net.

Bury Vets prop up the table after losing 4-2 at home to Bury Seniors, but Bolton Wyresdale improved their situation with their first points of the season from a 4-3 victory over Home Guard Failsworth for whom Rob Black, Lee Smith and Lee Donoghue came close to earning a point.
