GOALS from Harry Brockbank and Dennis Politic earned Wanderers a 2-2 draw away at Leeds in the U18 Professional Development League on Saturday.

Wanderers defended well as a team under early pressure from the home side before they grew into the game and started to attack with pace.

They caused problems for Leeds and went ahead when Ryan White found Shakeel Jones-Griffiths who crossed for Brockbank to tap in.

The second half began the same way as the first with the Yorkshire side putting Wanderers under pressure without breaking through the impressive back four.

When they eventually did get on the scoresheet it was from an unstoppable strike from outside the box.

Leeds then pushed on for the win and took the lead with 20 minutes remaining.

Wanderers showed good character and responded well, passing the ball better and equalising in the 90th minute when Politic ran at the defence and beat two players before striking a low shot across the goalkeeper into the bottom corner.

Wanderers coach Nicky Spooner said: "The pleasing thing was the way the boys worked hard for each other and got a result, and also finishing the game with two under-16s."
